We eat them a few different ways.
Sometimes they are just plain with butter and syrup.
Sometimes we use a fruit syrup or add fruit toppings.
Sometimes we go all out and make a dessert out of our pancakes.
Sometimes we just have fun!
I really like this recipe as a base recipe. I like to add a tsp or so of vanilla to it, and sometimes I will replace some of the flour with oats that I pulverized with my Cuisinart. I have also used Smart Balance instead of butter with great results.
Here's one of our favorites:
Pancakes with butter, syrup, bananas, walnuts and whipped cream. |
Here's what my younger kids asked for:
"Mickey Mouse" Pancakes with raisin face. |
Serve and watch the smiles! |
You can get creative and use chocolate chips, other fruit, a mixture of cinnamon/brown sugar/melted butter, or a variety of other things for the faces.
You can even leave the faces out of the cooking process and let the kids make one of their own, after.
Have fun!
Hi Susie,
ReplyDeleteWe just "met" over on Bloggy Moms and I had to come visit your blog. Guess which Mickey Mouse pancakes are making it to our breakfast table this weekend? Thanks!
I look forward to following.
Blessings,
Ann
Oh pancakes, my fave! We even have pancake day over here where it's acceptable to eat as many as you can as an evening meal. Yay!
ReplyDeleteHi Ann! Thanks for stopping by! I hope you and your family enjoy the pancakes! :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Lisa! LOL! I love all-you-can-eat pancakes! I usually double the recipe and make a ton... there is RARELY any leftovers. :-)
