IMPORTANT NOTE

Hello, and welcome.
I would like to inform you that I AM MOVING.
...well, sort of. I have started a new blog, Oui Crochet, that focuses just on crochet, crochet patterns, and crochet resources. I am in the process of building it up as a one stop shop for all things crochet, and I am very excited about it. I hope you will come over and check out my progress. :)
I will be moving my patterns from this site, to my new site. My idea is to leave this site active, so that you can still access other aspects of this site. I will also leave a modified "introduction" post where each pattern is on this site, as to keep all links active and make it so that you can easily locate the pattern's new home. As an added bonus, you will also find new printable/downloadable versions of my patterns.
I apologize for any inconvenience, but I assure you, this change is a positive one. I look forward to seeing you at Oui Crochet.
Happy Crocheting!

HOWDY!

                                                                           Howdy!
Thanks for stopping by! I'm no Super-mom, but that doesn't stop me from chasing after that cape! Here, I will share some of the successes (and failures) of my quest. If you like what you see, I invite you to follow along. If you are returning, welcome back! Questions or thoughts? Feel free to leave a comment. Thanks for visiting!
Want to know a little more about me and my blog? Read on:

Hi!
I'm Susie.
This is my blog.
I've had other blogs before, but they became more work than fun. I am creating this blog in an attempt to have more fun than work... because, you know, fun is more fun.

So, what can I say about me?
I am a happy wife. I've been married for over 24 years.
I am a happy Mom. I have been a mom for over 23 years.
I have seven kids. They range in age from under a year to 23.

...and this Blog?
Well, it's about my ongoing quest to become a Super Mom.
Now, when I think of Super Mom, I get visions of June Cleaver in her stylish dress,  matching accessories, high heels, and perfect hair and makeup, standing on a chair in her spotless living room, vacuuming the dust from the tops of the curtains. She does this while the pot roast is in the oven (perfectly timed for when her husband gets home), the cake is made (because a beautiful cake or pie is for dessert every night), and the kids are happily snacking on homemade cookies before they start their homework.
Hmmm...
Well, I don't vacuum the tops of the curtains. I mean, I might, if I really thought they needed it. But I certainly wouldn't do it in high heels and dressed to the nines. For me, it would be more like yoga pants, t-shirt, and barefooted. I might even throw my hair back in a pony tail for the occasion. So yeah, I'm not exactly a Super Mom, but that doesn't stop me from chasing after that cape.

I do like to cook, though. And I LOVE to bake! So, I've got that going for me. We homeschool our kids, so they are more likely to be eating their cookies while doing homework, instead of before.
My cakes don't turn out as perfect as I would like them to, but I am practicing. I can't cook a steak right. (Seriously... who screws up a steak? It's, like, one of the easiest things in the world to cook. Me. Grrrr.) I do make a damn good tri-tip, though. I will share some of my triumphs (and failures) in cooking and baking in this blog.

I also like to crochet. I have fun coming up with my own, new crochet patterns... hmmm.... OK, it IS fun to come up with a pattern, but it is a lot of work, too. I can't tell you how many stitches I have ripped out in order to get a project looking just right. When I finally succeed in a pattern that I like, I generally share it here.

I will also be sharing bits and pieces of other things, too. These may or may not include homeschooling tips or ideas, an occasional review, or a craft of some sort, or just something funny that my kids have said or done.

If you like what you see, I invite you to follow my blog, and if you are inspired to do so, feel free to leave a comment, too. Thanks for stopping by!

  2. It has been great meeting you Susie! I don't think I would ever vacuum the tops of curtains, mostly because I don't even like to vacuum the floor. I do it when I have to, but I don't like it.. LOL!

  3. Hi Susie!

I am an editor of AllFreeCrochetAfghanPatterns and we are updating our system. I would love to feature your patterns on my site with full credit to you. I know my readers would just love it and in return would generate some nice traffic to your site. If you agree and would like us to feature your project, our readers will simply click the link to your blog to get your full tutorial. It's really that simple.

I see you have lots of great patterns on your site and I would be interested in featuring even more! If you are interested in featuring more projects with links to your site, I can create a nice bio page for you as well as one of my Featured Crochet Designers. This page will include your bio and links to your site as well as any social media you would like to promote.

My site is part of Prime Publishing and we publish 19 cooking and crafting web sites. We have over 3.5 million active e-mail subscribers and about 10 million page views per week. You can learn more about us at www.primecp.com.

Please let me know if you would like to get started. Just a reply to this e-mail is all it takes.
