IMPORTANT NOTE

Hello, and welcome.
I would like to inform you that I AM MOVING.
...well, sort of. I have started a new blog, Oui Crochet, that focuses just on crochet, crochet patterns, and crochet resources. I am in the process of building it up as a one stop shop for all things crochet, and I am very excited about it. I hope you will come over and check out my progress. :)
I will be moving my patterns from this site, to my new site. My idea is to leave this site active, so that you can still access other aspects of this site. I will also leave a modified "introduction" post where each pattern is on this site, as to keep all links active and make it so that you can easily locate the pattern's new home. As an added bonus, you will also find new printable/downloadable versions of my patterns.
I apologize for any inconvenience, but I assure you, this change is a positive one. I look forward to seeing you at Oui Crochet.
Happy Crocheting!

Mocha Frappe'

***This is an old post moved here from my old blog.***

   Mocha Frappe'

    Mocha Frappe'... YUM!
    Why pay about four dollars?
    Make your own for less!
(Hmmm.... was that Haiku?)
Anyway, who wants to change out of the yoga pants and the big comfy t-shirt, corral  the kids and load them into the car, and drive to the local coffee house just to pay $4+ for a mocha frappe'? ... Depends on how badly you want that frappe'! But come on, there has to be an easier, cheaper way to get that frappe' fix.

Chances are, you have everything you need to make your own frappe' at home. And might I add, for a fraction of the cost. And it's easy, too. Go ahead. Rummage through your pantry, fridge and freezer. You may be closer to that fabulous frozen frappe', yet. Got milk? Ice? Coffee? Chocolate Milk or Hot Cocoa mix? If so, you are well on your way.

First brew a cup of strong coffee. Alternatively, you can use your favorite instant coffee or espresso powder.
Next, cross your fingers and hope that the kids haven't used up all of the powdered chocolate milk or hot cocoa mix. If they haven't, get about 6 tablespoons of the chocolate mix or 2 packets of the cocoa (more or less, depending on how chocolate-y you want it). Get a cup of milk and about 4 cups of crushed ice. Ready?
Here is where you have a choice. You can:

(A) Drag out the blender, throw everything in it, and blend until your little heart is content. Then divide the mixture into 2 large or 4 small cups.

~OR~

(B) You can split the ingredients equally between two large cups and blend each with a hand blender.

~OR~

(C) You can skip the blending altogether and just have iced mocha and less dishes to wash.
While I am normally a strong advocate for having less dishes to wash, I prefer option B. I like my mocha blended and the hand blender is easier to clean than the big blender. Works for me!

Now, if you have a can of whipped cream in the fridge, feel free to spray some on top of your frappe's now. Sprinkle the top with a bit of powdered cinnamon for a yummy little finishing touch.
    Enjoy!

What? You can't enjoy it just now? Oh... the kids saw it and now they want some. Just make another batch, except leave out the coffee and just use chocolate milk or cocoa. Super easy!

Here's the recipe again:

                                            Mocha Frappe'
(Serves 2 large or 4 small)

Ingredients:
1 cup strong brewed coffee

Directions:
1. Mix coffee, milk, powdered chocolate milk mix, and ice.
2. Blend.
3. Pour into cups and top with whipped cream and cinnamon.
4. Enjoy!
