I cheated a little... ok, a LOT on the biscuits. I used Jiffy Mix. I know... nothing beats homemade. But in my defense, I didn't want to waste really good homemade ingredients in an experiment. (Either that, or I was just lazy...Shhhh....)
I mixed up some biscuits according to the package directions- basically I added milk.
I greased up my waffle iron with some bacon grease and waffled away. Quick and super easy!
A couple of tips:
- Pat the dough to about 1/2 to 3/4 inches thick.
- Form the dough into a circle-ish shape about 1/3 smaller in diameter than your waffle iron.
- Don't let them cook too long or they will get kind of tough.
