Earning-My-Cape: Hand Print Christmas Tree

I want to share with you a fun craft that we make nearly every year- a Hand Print Christmas Tree.
It's a lot of fun, and with just a little guidance from you, your kids will be giggling and decorating their tree in no time... well, mine were, anyway!
Seriously, how cute are these, that my 3 youngest made?

Here's how easy they are to make:

Hand Print Christmas Tree
What You Need:
Colored paper- green and other colors
Safety scissors
pencil
glue sticks
decorating supplies of your choice (glitter glue, pom poms, stickers, or just use shapes cut from construction paper like we did!)

What You Do:

Make hand prints (do this twice, so that you have 8 prints in all)
Fold a piece of green paper into fourths. Trace your child's hand (or let them do it if they are old enough).

Cut all of the prints out.

Build your tree.

On another piece of colored paper, line up 3 hand prints for the bottom of the tree, and glue them in place.

Glue on 2 more hand prints for the second layer.

Now, glue one hand print on top, for the top layer.

See the tree coming along, now?
Texturize!
You can take your pencil and curl up the fingers for a pretty effect.

You only used 6 hand prints, didn't you? That's ok! Save those last 2 hand prints for tomorrow, when I will show you how to make another fun Christmas craft!

Decorate.
Turn the kids loose with glue sticks and decorations! (don't forget the tree trunk!)

After the mess is all cleaned up (and there will be a mess... sorry!), find a nice place to hang them!

On a side note... it is pretty funny watching a 2 year old with glue stick glue stuck to her fingertips try to pick things up. Very entertaining... I highly recommend it!
